Why buy 10 year term life insurance?

Affordable

When you compare a 10 year term life insurance quote to a 20 or 30 year plan you can see a major difference in cost. A 10 year term is an absolute bargain, if you ask us. In the chart below, we have shown the difference in cost between a 30, 20 and 10 year term life insurance policy. If you can afford it, we always recommend buying the longest term possible, but sometimes a 10 year term just makes a lot of sense.

More Death Benefit

Let’s face it, the goal of buying life insurance is to leave behind as much money as you can. A 10 year term life insurance policy lets you leave behind the most death benefit for your dollar. With a ten year plan you don’t lock in your rates for a long period of time, but you can buy a lot of death benefit. Our agents focus on getting you the most death benefit available if that is your goal. We know exactly what to do no matter what your goals are.

10 Year Term FAQ

Which life company offers the best price?
Finding the cheapest 10 year term life insurance policy will come down to several factors. Your age, height and weight, health history, family history, driving record, how much coverage you need and many other factors to start with. Also results of your medical exam will determine which company will offer you the best rates.
Can the policy be renewed after the term is up?
You have a couple options when the ten years are up.  You can use the conversion option if the policy offers one.  This is an option to convert the policy to a permanent policy without having to prove insureability. If you remain healthy you can always shop again and then apply for a new 10 year term. However, you will have to go through the underwriting again.
Do I have to take an exam?
We do have several companies that write 10 year term polices without having to take a medical exam. You can find out more about getting no exam life insurance on this page.
Should I buy a 10 year decreasing term life insurance policy?
Absolutely not. There is absolutely no reason, whatsoever, to buy a 10 year decreasing term life insurance policy because the policy is already so cheap.  Also you won’t be able to find one. You want a 10 year level term policy where the death benefit and the premiums stay the same for 10 years.
